1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special handtools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided. a. On or about April 9, 2021, the employer did not provide and ensure that employees utilized special hand tools to remove material from the Kramer-Grebe, Machine No. 741-3005/560 and other operating equipment. These tools are to be used during normal production and employees are to be trained on appropriate use.
