Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards resulting from elevated walkways that were not structurally sound. a) Facility, 4810 Buttermilk Hollow Road, West Mifflin, PA: On or about April 6, 2021, the employer directed an employee to perform work on an elevated catwalk that had deteriorated due to corrosion from exposure to slag, which exposed the employee to a fall hazard.
