29 CFR 1960.8(a): The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm: YUMA SECTOR: The Border Patrol failed to enact and follow a plan to attend to, treat, and evacuate timely any employees who became seriously injured or ill during the course of their field work in extremely rugged and remote locations. On January 7, 2021 a border patrol agent was found unresponsive while working in a remote location, and required air transport. It took over 90 minutes for services to arrive on scene due to delays with take-off and locating the agent. The agent later died from his injury.
