29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, was not provided as necessary by reason of chemical hazards encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact: On or about February 23, 2021, employees must work with hazardous chemicals at the Fine Jewelry Repair Shop, including but not limited to injurious corrosive materials. (a) The employer did not ensure the minimum Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to handle hazardous chemicals while performing the plating task.
