29 CFR 1910.132(f)(3)(iii): The employer did not retrain employees when inadequacies in the affected employee's use of PPE indicated the employee had not retained the requisite understanding: a) JBS Foods, Inc., 800 N. 8th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631: On or before February 17, 2021, the employer did not ensure that employees retained the requisite understanding or skill in that there were inadequacies in affected employee's knowledge or use of assigned PPE. During the end of shift clean-up task, an employee cleaning product from the PTC-6 conveyor belt reached for product that fell off the end after removing the blue plastic sleeve that, among other things, ensures the smock sleeves do not dangle near danger zones. The worker was caught in the drive sprockets of the conveyor. This condition resulted in a left arm amputation to the employee.
