29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not continuously maintained free of obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency: UTCRAS Inc., located at 501 Highland Ave. Morton, PA: (a) UTCRAS, Machine shop, Building T: On or about January 21, 2021, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was maintained free of obstructions. Pallets were placed and stored outside the building and within the emergency exit route, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency. (b) UTCRAS, Machine shop, Building O: On or about January 21, 2021, the employer did not ensure that the exit route inside Building O was maintained free of obstructions. Items such as but not limited to cardboard boxes stored on a pallet and other metal parts were obstructing emergency exit route, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency.
