29 CFR 1910.332(b)(1): Practices addressed in this standard. Employees shall be trained in and familiar with the safety-related work practices required by 1910.331 through 1910.335 that pertain to their respective job assignments. Client delivery sites (e.g. 1138 Backbone Rd. in Tampico, IL 61283), bag/bulk delivery persons/truck drivers, feed truck/trailer top-mounted augers: on or about January 14, 2021, the employer failed to train personnel in practices to maintain safe clearances of at least 10 feet or more from the energized overhead lines when maneuvering feed augers during feed deliveries. Employees using ground controls on delivery equipment were exposed to direct contact with electric power distribution lines (120V to 7.8 kV) likely to result in electrocution. Employees did not know about safe clearances and practices to position vehicles and operate equipment at the required distances away from power lines. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
