29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees did not use eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: The employer does not protect each employee required to work with air powered nail guns by providing and ensuring the use of approved protective safety glasses. a) This most recently occurred on or about January 5, 2021, at 155 Fore Castle, Medina, Ohio 44256. Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a nail while performing roofing activities. To abate this hazard in the future, the employer must ensure employees are provided with, and required to use, approved safety glasses in accordance with this standard, and that no employees are permitted to work with the nail guns until protection is provided. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from fall hazards.
