29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: 28 Bowditch Dr., Shrewsbury, MA: On December 1, 2020 and at times prior, employees who climbed the stairs to load plates into the plate dropper on the 12-head pie line were exposed to multiple machine hazards due to the employer allowing 1) the area surrounding the plate loading location to remain unguarded, and 2) an adjacent machine guard to repeatedly be removed. Table Talk Pies was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1267712, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on March 30, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 120 Washington St, Worcester, MA.
