29 CFR 1926.600(a)(6):All equipment covered by this subpart shall comply with the following requirements when working or being moved in the vicinity of power lines or energized transmitters, except where electrical distribution and transmission lines have been deenergized and visibly grounded at point of work or where insulating barriers, not a part of or an attachment to the equipment or machinery, have been erected to prevent physical contact with the lines: 29 CFR 1926.600(a)(6)(i): For lines rated 50kV or below, a minimum of 10 feet was not maintained between the energized line and the equipment. a. On or about August 17, 2020, located at the corner of Wabash Avenue and Maple Avenue at 2565 Maple Avenue North in Zanesville, Ohio, the employer did not ensure that a Manitex A62 articulating telescopic aerial work platform, serial number 267309 was maintained at least 10 feet from an energized line while an employee was installing 12-foot LED light strips into an outdoor sign, exposing the employee to an electrocution hazard of approximately 7,200 vac.
