Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about July 24th, 2020, employees were exposed to fall hazards when performing roofing activities on a low-sloped elementary school roof and were not adequately trained to recognize the hazards associated with an inadequate warning line system and the role of each employee in a safety monitoring system in that employees on level A had set up a partial warning line system when cleaning off the low slope roof. Employees on the upper roof did not set up any warning line system and was unsure as to who the safety monitor for the site was.
