29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. On July 24, 2020, located on a low slope pitch commercial roof, employees were exposed to a fall hazard installing Gravel Stop Edging at the edge of the roof as there were no frequent and regular inspections being performed by a competent person to ensure the job-site, materials and equipment such as fall protection systems and/or devices were being maintained, installed, and utilized in a safe condition. Potential fall height measured to be 23'-7" with a roof pitch of 2/12. The Kerkan Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1366829, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on 3/04/19, with respect to a workplace located at 7996 Princeton Glendale Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011.
