OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to fire and explosion hazards when stakes are driven into and removed from high pressure natural gas lines. a) 1129 Garfield St, Bethlehem, PA - On or about July 21, 2020, employees were assigned to install a tent, which involves the driving of steel stakes into the ground, and the operation was performed without the employer having first contacted PA One Call to locate the underground utilities so that employee contact with high pressure natural gas could be avoided. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement include: 1) Comply with Pennsylvania Act 287, One Call system, to locate underground utilities prior to penetrating soil. 2) Adhere to Action Party Rental Safety Procedures, Assembly Instructions for All Purpose Canopy, utility locator requirement.
