29 CFR 1926.451(b)(5)(ii): Each platform greater than 10 feet in length shall not extend over its support more than 18 inches (46 cm), unless it is designed and installed so that the cantilevered portion of the platform is able to support employees without tipping, or has guardrails which block employee access to the cantilevered end. On or about June 4, 2020, the ladder jack scaffold platform extended over 18 inches beyond its support. Employees engaged in residential roofing operations were exposed to fall hazards while working on the ladder jack platform. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
