Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) On or about May 20, 2020, at 1020 NW 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, employees were exposed to tip-over and fall hazards while working from the elevated platform of a scissor lift positioned adjacent to bi-folding hangar doors that were not rendered inoperable during the work activity. �Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazardous condition would be to: Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that meet the requirements of the operator's manual for scissor lifts when operating the equipment to include: a. Isolate the scissor lift or implement traffic control measures to ensure that other equipment cannot contact the scissor lift; and b. Select work locations with firm, level surfaces away from hazards that can cause instability.�
