29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above floors or platforms were not enclosed: The employer is failing to protect employees from amputation, struck-by, and suffocation hazards. This was most recently documented on or about March 23, 2020 at Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc. located at 3105 N. IBP Road Holcomb, Kansas. The employer failed to guard the sprocket and chain assembly for the drive of the take away conveyor located 3 feet 4 inches above the maintenance platform. Employees engaged in regular preventive maintenance, and/or repair, replace activities in the Harvest side of the plant by the restrainer belly chain (decline belt drive, on the maintenance stand) area were permitted to walk and work near and around the rotating sprocket and chain assembly operating at approximately 15-17 HP (1725 rpm's) without guards provided.
