29 CFR 1926.702(j)(1): Employees were permitted to perform maintenance or repair activity on equipment (such as compressors, mixers, screens, or pumps used for concrete and masonry construction activities) where the inadvertent operation of the equipment was ensured. (1) At jobsite, employee was exposed to amputation hazard while performing cleaning of a 2 hp Toro MMX-850E-S Ultra Mix Mortar Mixer of fire proofing material where employer failed to follow manufacture operation instructions to ensure machine power was disconnected, on or about February 27, 2020.
