Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees by exposing employees to struck-by hazards. On or about 03/06/2020, the company's two (2) portable gantry cranes located in the chemical mixing area of the facility were not inspected as required. Daily to frequent basis inspections were not being completed thus increasing the chance to overload the cranes. Used to complete tasks such as, but not limited to; filling net with wet moss that can weigh approximately 100 lbs. (+) or bleaching, preserving, and dyeing moss; employees were not protected from potential struck-by hazards.
