Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.29(f)(1)(i): (i) Handrails were less than 30 inches (76 cm) and not more than 38 inches (97 cm), as measured from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the handrail: a) On or about 1/21/2020, the employer had a Stairway, that an employee fell down, that did not have a uniform hand rail height from the top of the stairs to the bottom landing of at least 30 inches, as measured from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the wooden handrail. At the top of the stairs, the tubular metal handrail height was only 28 inches in height. b) On or about 1/21/2020, the employer had a Stairway, that an employee fell down, that did not have a uniform hand rail height from the top of the stairs to the bottom landing of at least 30 inches, as measured from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the metal handrail. At the bottom of the stairs, the wooden 2x6 handrail height was only 29 inches in height.
