Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a. In the facility, an employee performing work on Table 2 of the disassembly area, was exposed to continuous noise levels at 151.8% of the permissible daily dose level, when measured with an 90 dBA threshold, or an average equivalent sound level of the approximately 93.25 dBA for the 464 minute sampling time on February 4, 2019. Exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 16 minutes not sampled. b. In the facility, an employee performing work in the Table 3 of the disassembly area was exposed to continuous noise levels at 105.3% of the permissible daily dose level, when measured with an 80 dBA threshold, or an average equivalent sound level of the approximately 93.24 dBA for the 322 minute sampling time on February 4, 2020. Exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 158 minutes not sampled. c. In the facility, an employee performing work on Table 2 of the disassembly area was exposed to continuous noise levels at 73% of the permissible daily dose level, when measured with an 80 dBA threshold, or an average equivalent sound level of the approximately 90.9 dBA for the 308 minute sampling time on February 4, 2020. Exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 172 minutes not sampled. d. In the facility, an employee performing work on a Tumbler unit was exposed to continuous noise levels at 68.21% the permissible daily dose level, when measured with an 80 dBA threshold, or an average equivalent sound level of the approximately 87.41 dBA for the 420 minute sampling time on February 4, 2020. Exposure calculation included a zero increment for the 60 minutes not sampled.
