29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels are not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): 1. Employees performing roofing work are not protected from fall hazards greater than 21-feet to the ground through the use of effective fall protection. The employer fails to ensure effective protection against falls, as required by the standard, as demonstrated on or about September 22, 2019, at 2000 Park Central, Royal Palm Beach, Florida, 333411, where employees install tiles on a roof with a pitch of 5:12. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that employees are protected from falls by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b). CJM Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, in OSHA inspection #1235090, Citation #1, Item #1, with respect to a workplace located at 11607 SW Rowena Street, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. The citation was issued on October 10, 2017, and became a final order on January 11, 2018. CJM Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard in OSHA inspection #1143678, Citation #1, Item #1, with respect to a workplace located at The Estate at Tradition, Lot 180, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34987.
