29 CFR 1910.179(n)(2)(iii): Care was not taken to prevent the sling from contacting obstacles: A.) Ellwood National Forge Company - On 9/5/19, and at times prior thereto, alloy steel chain sling did not clear the centering machine. A sling hook attached to part of the centering machine, then released from the machine under tension, and struck an employee in the face. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
