Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. a. On or before August 27, 2019, the Chiyoda CPC-60 2 bend machine did not have guards in place at the point of operation including but not limited to, the pressure clamp and pressure dies. On or about August 19, 2019 an employee was injured on the Chiyoda CPC-60 2 bend machine when their finger was caught between a pipe being bent and the pressure clamp.
