Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): The energy control procedures did not clearly and specifically outline the steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy: Pentair Water Filtration Company located at 220 Park Dr., Chardon, OH 44024: Although the employer established a program for the control of hazardous energy, it was deficient in that not all of the hazardous energy sources were adequately identified; therefore specificity of written procedures for machinery such as, but not limited to, the RotoGran granulating machine (Model: WO-2236-TB, Serial number HP2236TB0601162WO) was missing. On or about August 19, 2019, employees did not control all hazardous energy such as but not limited to, gravity before performing servicing and maintenance activities. Employees who work within the danger zone while clearing plastic scraps from the rotor blades/knives were exposed to amputation hazards.
