29 CFR 1926.451(a)(1): Except as provided in paragraphs (a)(2), (a)(3), (a)(4), (a)(5) and (g) of this section, each scaffold and scaffold component shall be capable of supporting, without failure, its own weight and at least 4 times the maximum intended load applied or transmitted to it. a. Located at 12659 Preservation Way NW in Pickerington, Ohio: On or about July 25, 2019, the employer extended a pump jack scaffold platform by strapping a telescoping aluminum plank to the end of the platform and strapping extended end of the plank up to the work bench. The employer did not ensure that the plank was capable of supporting four times the loads applied, thereby exposing employees to a fifteen foot fall hazard.
