29 CFR 1910.140(c)(18): (18) Personal fall protection systems must be inspected before initial use during each workshift for mildew, wear, damage, and other deterioration, and defective components must be removed from service. a) Samples Department: On or about July 18, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of up to 12 feet while operating a Order Picker (Toyota Forklift Model 7BPUE15 Serial Number 84080), in that the lanyard, for the body harness, was damaged/frayed.
