Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employement and a place of employement which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical and struck-by hazards when working with automotive lifts: On or about June 19 at 6555 McDonough Drive, Norcross, Georgia employees operating the automotive lift were exposed to struck-by, and caught-by hazards to include, but not limited to: a. employees were not trained in the safe use and operation of the lift using the manufacturers-provided instructions and warning labels . b. the employer did not maintain the appropriately document operator training by completing the operator training log. c. the employer did not establish a periodic inspection procedure in accordance with the recommendations of the lift manufacturer in order to ensure reliability and allow the continued safe operation of the lift. d. a record of each periodic inspection was not prepared and maintained noting the observations and findings of all points of inspection recommended by the manufacturer as well as subsequent repairs or replacements accomplished.
