1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employee(s) in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts and crushing hazards. (a) Sub Assembly and Sleeve Press #0037-3357H: On or about June 5, 2019, the employer did not insure barrier guarding, interlock and /or light curtains were properly implemented as part of the integrated safety system. This allowed the employee(s) to access the pneumatic cylinder piston and die block in an energized state, exposing the employee(s) to ingoing nip point, crushing hazard and amputation injury.
