Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards while loading the Ingersoll-Rand DD-24 vibratory roller onto the lowboy transport trailer: a) On or about May 8, 2019, at the worksite in Lakeland FL, the surface of the transport trailer was wet causing the roller to slide and while correcting the roller the operator drove the roller off the side of the trailer, exposing employees to a struck-by hazard. b) On or about May 8, 2019, at the worksite in Lakeland FL, the employer did not ensure employees operating mechanized paving equipment, such as but not limited to the Ingersoll-Rand DD-24 vibratory roller were using a seatbelt while moving the equipment into the transport trailer, exposing employees to struck-by hazards.
