Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to roll-over and fall hazards of approximately 4-feet while operating Crown forklifts with side-shift attachments inside of trailers while motor vehicles such as but not limited to tractor-trailers operated maneuvered in forward and in reverse gear: On or about February 11, 2019, at 6600 Governor's Lake Parkway, Norcross, Georgia: a worker assigned to unload door #5 on the loading dock was operating a Crown forklift with a side-shift attachment inside of tractor-trailer when the tractor-trailer pulled away from the dock prematurely. The employee was at the rear of the tractor-trailer when it moved and fell with the Crown forklift approximately 4-feet to the ground outside of the loading dock and was consequently injured requiring hospitalization.
