Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that arborists were exposed to a fall hazard: a) Jobsite: Spar of tree On or about 12/6/18, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 30 feet above ground level while cutting sections of the spar using a tie-in position and or methodology that was not able to withstand the forces applied to it. Abatement Note: Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method includes following the national consensus standard requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z133 -2012, American National Standard for Arboricultural Operations - Section 8.1, to select tie-in points able to withstand the forces being applied during the removal operation.
