29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards. This was most recently documented on November 16, 2018 at the residential construction site located at 79 Horizon Lane in Camdenton, Missouri. Roofers were observed installing shingles and working at height. Employees engaged in residential roofing activities from a 4:12 pitch roof were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 34 feet from the eave of the residence to the ground below without the use of fall protection.
