29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about 11/6/18, the employer failed to ensure that employees tasked with operating the Fresh Mozz Cooker, in the Mozz Make Area, were protected by machine guarding methods. The Fresh Mozz Cooker had two augers inside that continue to spin, while the outlet gates/doors are open, to push the cheese curds into the vat below. The outlet gates/doors open about 5.5", and the distance from the augers to the opening is about 1". Both the augers and the doors, create a pinch points.
