29 CFR 1910.178(l)(2)(ii): This standard is applicable to construction employment as defined by 29 CFR 1926.602(d). The employer did not ensure that each operator had successfully completed the training consisting of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. The employer is failing to train employees on how to operate the powered industrial trucks and recognize the struck by or caught under hazards associated with their operation. The most recent occurrence was evident during the inspection conducted on August 16, 2018 at the facility located at 72227 578 Ave, Plymouth, NE 68424. The employer has not provided formal training to employees who operate powered industrial vehicles to move pallets and parts around the jobsite.
