Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about July 31, 2018, the employer did not ensure that adequate guarding was utilized on and around the "Mold Maker" production line. Specifically, this exposed employees to a pinch point hazard between the mold flask lift and the rail system. The Motor Castings Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number #1114086, citation number 1, item number 5, and was affirmed as a final order on January 05, 2017, with respect to the workplace located at 1323 S. 6th St. West Allis, WI.
