29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following: Guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Kmart Store #3972, Stock Storage Area: Employees were exposed to fall hazards when standing on the second level of the storage rack to manually transfer appliances such as, but not limited to, refrigerators from pallets directly onto the storage rack. The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falling from the unprotected edge of the storage rack that was 6 feet, 9 inches from the floor below; on or about 7/24/2018.
