Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employer engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, or personal fall arrest systems: The employer is failing to ensure employees are protected from fall hazards when conducting installation of shingles as part of re-roofing operations. This was most recently documented at 904 Deer Run Lane Papillion, Nebraska on or about May 29, 2018 when the employer had employees working on the roof of this residence without any form of protective system. Workers were installing shingles on a residential style construction site (house) without utilizing fall protection. The workers were exposed to falls of over 11 feet to the ground below. An employee fell from this distance and sustained fatal injuries when working on the roof without fall protection.
