Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets: On or about May 1, 2018, the following employees were not protected by hard hats while working in two (2) trenches where overhead hazards were present, exposing employees to a struck-by hazard: a) An employee was not protected by a hardhat while working in the north trench at a depth of 5.5'. b) An employee was not protected by a hardhat while working in the south trench at a depth of 5.5'. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
