Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On December 28, 2017 at the jobsite located at 5559 Annie Marie Dr., lot # 45, an employee working in an approximately 16 feet deep trench was not wearing a hard hat. The employee was thereby exposed to being struck by falling materials and equipment. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
