Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees a. On or about December 21, 2017, and at times thereto, employees operated a Despatch, Class A, serial number 145497, electric oven to cure small electrical coil parts coated with MEK. Prior to continuously placing the wet parts into the hot oven, the employer did not calculate the solvent vapor levels to ensure that the ovens ventilation system could safely cure the parts below the lower explosion levels of the highly volatile coating, thereby exposing employees to a struck-by hazard in the event of an explosion.
