29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles: a) At a single story, residential building under construction, employees using a Hitachi NV45NV2 pneumatic nail-gun are not being protected from flying particle injuries hazards by using eye protection: The employer fails to assure effective protection against flying particles as required by the standard, as demonstrated on October 30, 2017, when two employees installing asphalt roofing shingles on the roof of the building located at 9939 Patriot Ct. Jacksonville, FL 32221, are not protected from flying particle injuries by the use of a personal protection equipment. COASTAL ROOFING INC. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 951792, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/18/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 4696 Karsten Creek Dr., Lot #326, Jacksonville FL 32208.
