Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to chemical splash and struck by hazards. On or about October 11, 2017, employees were exposed to chemical splash and struck-by hazard when the hooks used to lift baskets filled with metal parts weighing in excess of 350 pounds were missing a safety latch that would keep the load in place. The hazards were located in the following areas: a. Rack#6, the safety latches were missing on the hooks. b. Barrel #3, the safety latches were missing on the hooks. c. Manual Barrel, the safety latches were missing on the hooks. d. Tin Rack, The safety latches were missing on the hooks. e. Dip Spin, the safety latches were missing on the hooks.
