29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a. On or about October 24, 2017, and at times prior thereto, employees were performing servicing and maintenance activities, such as, but not limited to, cleaning refractory material from under, around, and near DISA casting line equipment which was not locked out to control hazardous energy. The employer did not ensure that the employees engaged in the covered activities had received authorized lockout/tagout training.
