29 CFR 1928.57(c)(2)(i): The mesh or nip-points of all power driven gears, belts, chains, sheaves, pulleys, sprockets, and idlers shall be guarded: a) On or about September 30, 2017 on the Spudnik telescoping piler, the in-running nip point created by the cleat conveyor belt and the end roller, near the hopper, was not guarded to prevent employee exposure to caught-in hazards. b) On or about October 4, 2017 on the Spudnik pup conveyor, the in-running nip point created by the cleat conveyor belt and the end roller, near the hopper, was not guarded to prevent employee exposure to caught-in hazards. c) On or about October 4, 2017 on the Spudnik telescoping conveyor, the in-running nip point created by the cleat conveyor belt and the end roller was not guarded to prevent employee exposure to caught-in hazards. d) On or about October 4, 2017 on the Spudnik telescoping conveyor, the in-running nip point created by a powered chain and sprocket on the drive motor, was not guarded to prevent employee exposure to crushing hazards.
