Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(ii)(B): The energy control procedures did not clearly and specifically outline the steps for shutting down, isolating, blocking and securing machines or equipment to control hazardous energy: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck by and crushing hazards associated with servicing and maintaining equipment with stored energy. This was most recently documented on September 27, 2017 during the inspection of the facility located at 105 N. Main St. Wakefield, NE; where the employer has developed inadequate written specific procedures for the Poweramp VS Series 66 Dock Levelers. The procedures do not identify hydraulic and gravity as potential sources of stored energy nor do they provide instruction on methods to relieve and block those sources of energy.
