29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: (a) United Parcel Service at 400 W. 69th Street, Loveland, CO 80538: On or before August 30, the employer did not ensure that procedures were developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section. The guards were removed on conveyors, such as, but not limited to, the PS-1 conveyor, to remove envelopes caught in the conveyor, caught inside the conveyor guarding, or caught on the conveyor rollers. This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards associated with ingoing nip points and rotating parts.
