IC 22-8-1.1 Section 2: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Nucor Steel, Acid Regeneration Building, 5th Floor - On or about January 19, 1998, the employer did not provide a safe method for employees to transport metal plates measuring 10 feet long, 5 feet wide, 1/2 inch thick, weighing approximately 1200 pounds. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to cut the metal plates down to a manageable size, transporting it in a laid down position and, if needed, seam weld back together.ing
