29 CFR 1910.119(d)(3)(ii): The employer shall document that equipment complies with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices. a) On or about August 9, 2017 the Red Water Chiller unit was not provided with a safety system or alarm to detect the release of ammonia. The employer failed to use recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice (RAGAGEP) such as IIAR. A leak detection sensor, or the inlet of a sampling tube that draws air to a leak detection sensor, shall be mounted in a position where ammonia from a leak is expected to accumulate.
