Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator, and others in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) RF Thermatron die cutting press: The employer did not insure adequate guarding was provided to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. The lack of guarding exposed employees to in-going nip points, crushing hazards, and amputation injury related to mechanical operations which occur during machine cycles.
