29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): On or about July 22, 2017, the employer failed to ensure that each authorized forklift operator was competent to safely operate powered industrial vehicles. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from powered industrial vehicles used to transport glass within the warehouse. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
